An interview with Versaemerge at Warped Tour 7/11/10
VersaEmerge: We’re VersaEmerge and we are Incredibly Green!
IG: What is the biggest environmental issue today?
Sierra: The oil spill…probably.
Blake: I’m not actually sure. I mean, we’re seeing a lot about the oil spill. I dunno there’s a ton of things going on right now.
Sierra: It’s really close to my house so I’m kind of worried about it.
Blake: She lives on the Gulf.
IG: What kind of impact do you think the Warped Eco Initiative is making on the people who come to Warped Tour and your fans?
Sierra: Hopefully they are making an impact, I definitely see kids volunteering, wearing the shirts, picking up trash, so its good kids care enough to help.
Blake: It’s seems like every year you see more and more ways to recycle and stuff.
IG: What does being green mean to you?
Sierra: Being green to me is just kind of being more aware you know, recycling, using tap water instead of bottled water; that’s what my mom makes me do! You know, just being aware of what’s going on. Try not to littler, try not to be lazy.
IG: If you could change one thing about the environment, what would it be?
Sierra: I think I would change…
Blake: I wish we weren’t so reliable on oils, it’d be good if more people could make an effort to start, at least, using more gas efficient cars. One day when the oil runs out, they’re not kind of…left there.
Sierra: I think the dirt…the dirtiness. You know, the air is just not very clean anymore… It’s not good!
IG: Do you and your families recycle when you’re at home?
Sierra: Yes!
Blake: Yes!
